All three outlets are the same bore size. The run pipe and branch pipe are of equal diameter. Used where the full flow is split or combined at 90°.
The branch outlet is smaller than the run pipe. Designated as Run × Run × Branch (e.g. 6" × 6" × 4"). Used for take-off to smaller sub-headers.
Type B tees are for use at full service pressure, with the same strength as the connecting pipe of the same material and wall thickness. They often need extra wall thickness to achieve this. Type A tees have a reduced pressure factor. The pressure-equipment designer chooses the type, so state "EN 10253 Type A" or "EN 10253 Type B" explicitly in your RFQ.
